We are firm believers in the value of continuing education and are delighted to support Arizona State licensed massage therapists and other licensed healthcare practitioners with a variety of high quality evening and weekend workshops.
ASIS is approved by Arizona State as well as the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider under Category A. Massage therapists who hold National Certification must obtain 24 continuing education units (CEUs) every two-years to maintain their Board Certification credential. Massage Therapists who are licensed through Arizona State are required to obtain 36 CEUs every three years to maintain licensure. ASIS frequently offers several CEU-granting workshops which fulfill these requirements.
The type and number of continuing education hours are listed under each workshop. If you have any questions, or would like to register for a workshop, please email us at workshops@asismassage.edu. You can also contact us by phone at 607.272.9024.
In January of 2012 Arizona State began requiring continuing education for all LMTs. We are very excited to offer Arizona State-approved Continuing Education workshops to our alumni as well as all other Arizona State Licensed Massage Therapists. If you would like more information about the new law, you may contact us, or read more on the Arizona State Office of Professions website: http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/mt/mtcenotice.htm
Overview from the Office of Professions:
Effective January 1, 2012, to renew your registration as a massage therapist, Arizona State Education Law requires completion of 24 hours of acceptable formal continuing education, a maximum of which may be 12 hours of self-instructional coursework, in each two-year renewal period. Practitioners are not required to complete continuing education for the triennial registration period during which they are first licensed. All other registered massage therapists are required to complete 24 hours, the equivalent of 1 hour per month, of acceptable continuing education.
