Learn the Art of Rejuvenation through specific Ayurvedic Treatments to enhance well being and peace of mind for you and your massage client.
Rasayana is a Sanskrit word meaning “That which makes new again, restoring a youthful state of physical and mental health, as well as expanding happiness and contentment”. In this workshop you will learn Rasayana therapies and practices that are grounding, rejuvenating and nourishing; helping you and your client to alleviate anxiety and stress, balance and tone the body, calm the mind and nurture the spirit.
Students will begin with the basic foundations of Ayurveda and go over practical guidelines for Daily Routines, Foods and Practice that enhance well being in accord with each Season and Dosha.
Recognize their clients elemental constitution (Prakriti) and imbalances (Vrikriti) and how and when to apply appropriate Ayurvedic treatments. They will also learn preliminary and follow up protocol, benefits and precautions for each treatment.
Other topics you will learn:
- Shirodhara: a profound and luxurious treatment where specific herbalized oils are poured in a steady rhythmic stream across the forehead to invoke a deeply meditative and relaxing state.
- Udhvartan: a full body exfoliation done with a freshly made paste of powdered herbs (choornam), mixed with either Rose Water, Oil or Dry, depending on the Dosha.
- Svedana: an herbalized steam therapy used to open circulation through the channels, allowing toxins to be mobilized and eliminated.
Kelly Grey ERYT-500, CYI, NCTMB, Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Practitioner. For over 25 years Kelly has practiced and taught Yoga and Ayurveda throughout the US, the UK and in India, in local studios, ashrams, colleges and rehab centers. She has advanced training in Yoga and Master Teacher certification in Ayurveda, including intensive training in Ayurvedic Massage and Treatments from Kerala, India. She currently is an instructor at ASIS Schools in Arizona and maintains a private practice in Prescott AZ.
